Why companies move off personal Gmail
Personal addresses work until you hire people, send invoices, or talk to banks and partners. A shared inbox looks informal, and staff leave taking the address with them. Company email — name@yourcompany.co.ke or .com — keeps mail under the business and makes it easier to add or remove people.

What “email hosting” actually is
Your domain registrar stores the domain name. An email host runs the mailboxes and servers that send and receive mail for that domain. You point DNS records (especially MX) at the host. After that, people sign in with webmail or a mail app.
